More than two families has been confirmed dead with no fewer than 25 others in an attacks in Jos yesterday.
In what has been described as coordinated attacks on the residence of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State which took between the hours of 12am and 1am, over two families has been confirmed dead, and no fewer than 25 other dead also.
Confirming the attack to newsmen, the head of the Tatu, one of the villages where the incidence took place, Mr. Da Pa Pam Gyang Tsok stated that gunmen on military uniformity raided the community shooting sporadically and killing people while some others sustained injuries. He further confirmed that 15 women and children were killed in Tatu community.
He equally confirmed the the wipping out of two households in the attack and the killed of ten people at Bwok village and seven at Dorong
The man lamented that he could discern where the attack came from because they had been living in peace with their neighbours.
According to him, “we were shocked by the attack because we had no quarrel with any group or person and have been living in peace with non -natives in our midst.”
At another location, Rawure, similar event also took place, where a man, his wife and their children were killed and not fewer than five others injured in the attack. Confirming the incident to newsmen, a village head, Mr. Job Chollom also disclosed that the gunmen that came for the attack also wore military outfits.
Among the victims of the attack who have lost their lives are, a year old boy who was targeted and shot at close range, another four year old boy, several women and children. Over ten persons who sustained various degrees of injuries are currently receiving treatment at different hospitals in the state.
The Interim Administrator of Barakin-Ladi Local Government, Mr. Habila Dungs confirmed the killings and described it as a coordinated attack.
