The members of the terrorist group were said to be hidden inside a truck carrying livestock heading to Gombe state. According to the report, they were apprehended in Biu, the south of Borno state. The Youth Vigilante group had suspected that the truck carrying sheep and goats might have some dangerous items on board. While they stopped the vehicle to carry out a check, a group of people number about fifty who has admitted to be members of the Boko Haram sect terrorising the country was found on board.
They were reported to be moving from Damboa axis of Borno to somewhere in Gombe State. The apprehended persons has long been handed over to the military and are being detained in one of the Barracks in the State.
This group of terrorists were fleeing their base in Borno based on the reported killing of their leader, Abubakar Shekau by the Military last week. Also, as a result of which about five Boko Haram members surrendered to the military.
